Thea, whose grandfather built one of the fish pond gardens while he was incarcerated at Manzanar. The gardens were often built next to the mess halls to provide some cooler air while families waited to be admitted. Thea was volunteering at the Manzanar National Historic Site and stands next to a banner inscribed with names of those incarcerated there during WWII. Manzanar National Historic Site; 28 April 2023
